External web links guidelines (draft)

We include links to organisations that users may find helpful, across a range of subject areas - including to external websites or third parties.

These links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

If you have any queries about information accessed through links, please check directly with the organisation concerned.

External links on our website are reviewed regularly. But if you find a broken link or a link directing you to website material you feel is unsuitable, please provide feedback.

Request a link

Due to the large number of marketing emails we receive, we don't generally accept new requests for links to be added to our pages. We do not accept links for commercial or political organisations.

You can request a link for inclusion by providing feedback.

Our criteria:

  • Information is relevant to specific content on this site or to the council as a whole
  • Up-to-date and authoritative information
  • Free from offensive material, political or religious bias
  • Free to access
  • A government organisation, public organisation, charity or other publicly known and trusted organisation
  • Transparent with respect to its ownership, funding and purposes
  • Non-commercial (unless supporting the council to meet its aims and priorities - i.e. sponsorship)

Please do not contact us again if your link does not appear on our site. Each site will be looked at in the context of the other information we provide and will only be added if it is considered to meet the criteria as set out above, and meets government-mandated accessibility standards. It should also meet the standards laid out in the DCLG Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity, and not conflict with the Constitution of North Northamptonshire Council.

We reserve the right to remove links without notice or explanation (in particular if a website is not well maintained and up-to-date) or does not meet reasonable accessibility and usability requirements.

Linking to our site

If you have a website, you are welcome to link to the North Northamptonshire Council web site without requesting permission.

Our homepage address is www.northnorthants.gov.uk and should be labelled 'North Northamptonshire Council'. You can also link to any other page within the site using the appropriate URL.

You may link to us from your site as long as our site appears in its normal form (i.e. it does not appear inside your own frameset, with any advertising, or in such a way as to pass off the material as your own).

Please respect our copyright.
