Key information about major works.
The Kerbing works are in preparation for carriageway patching that will be undertaken in summer 2024.
We will be installing 4-way temporary traffic signals on the Islip roundabout for phase 1. Phases 2, 3 and 4 will be completed under two-way temporary traffic signals.
Working hours
8am to 5pm (weekday working only).
Emergency vehicles
Emergency services will not be affected.
Public transport
Bus services will not be affected.
Residents or businesses
Any residents and businesses will remain accessible if they fall within the works extents. Where kerbs are being replaced within a vehicle crossing, one side will be left open while the other side is replaced.
Parking and property or business access
We will assist residents and business owners accessing and egressing their buildings. We also recommend you plan extra time for your journeys.

These future works will involve surface dressing, which is a cost-effective road surface treatment used to prolong the life of roads that are starting to show the first signs of minor deterioration.
Traffic management
A diversion will be in place between 8am to 4pm as shown on the map below. The red line shows the road closure, and the blue line shows the diversion route.
Working hours
Monday 13 May to Wednesday 15 May 2024 between 8am and 4pm (road will be accessible as normal outside of working hours).
Emergency vehicles
Access will be maintained where possible. However, prolonged delays are to be expected.
Public transport
There will be no bus services through these closures during the working hours
Residents or businesses
Access for residents only will be maintained where possible. Our Traffic Management marshals will escort residents through the closure. Please expect delays and plan your journeys accordingly. We will have access signs installed in front of driveways. If you require access, please call the number and our TM foreman will get someone to assist you. Where possible, please park outside of the closure. Access for pedestrians will be maintained where possible, but there will be no access for cyclists

To help us with our work, please move any vehicles parked within this section of the road before 8am. This is to enable our workforce to be able to carry out the works swiftly, without delay. We also ask that you park leaving a minimum of 20 metres of any junction for the duration of the works.
Advanced ‘No Parking’ warning signs will be placed in the area 24 hours before. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and co-operation.
