Publicity and consultations for planning applications
Any member of the public can comment and make representations on an application.
All valid applications received each week are compiled in weekly lists and can be viewed online:
Copies of weekly lists are sent to Councillors and Parish Councils. Notification letters are sent out by post to neighbouring properties.
Certain types of application are advertised by means of a notice placed on, or adjacent to the site, and some may be advertised in the press.
Depending on the proposed development, we are required to formally consult with several statutory bodies (e.g. Historic England, Listed Building bodies, Natural England, etc).
The local Parish or Town Council will also be consulted along with our own internal teams and departments.
